2020 SEAFWA Officer of the Year Award

The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission’s Law Enforcement Division has selected Master Officer Darby D.W. Enoch as the 2020 SEAFWA Officer of the Year. He was selected by a panel comprised of past award recipients and additional staff from the agency. 

Officer Enoch is an eight-year veteran of the Law Enforcement Division whose work as a Wildlife Law Enforcement officer reflects the professional and positive attitude that he constantly displays. He remains professional in all aspects of his work while by himself, with fellow officers or with members of the public. He communicates and coordinates effectively with allied agencies while fostering excellent professional relationships that benefit the public and each respective agency. By sharing information and equipment resources, and providing strong leadership and training, Officer Enoch has maintained the highest level of cooperation and professionalism. 

In 2019, Officer Enoch was selected as a field training officer for the first time in his career, where he excelled.  Over the six-month field training period, he and his trainee investigated many incidents which resulted in more than 125 violations detected - including hunting, fishing, boating, game lands and littering violations.

Officer Enoch continues to exceed in his role as an instructor for the Law Enforcement Division as an instructor, focusing on ASP, Subject Control Arrest Technique (SCAT), physical fitness and TASER training. He also continues to instruct at the N.C. Wildlife Basic Academy and In-Service Training. He is passionate about his continued education, attending extra training in Subject Control Arrest Techniques to help him become a subject matter expert.

In 2020, Officer Enoch will also be recognized as the N.C. Wildlife Federation Officer of the Year and the Shikar Safari Officer of the Year. Our most sincere congratulations go out to Officer Enoch for these well-deserved honors.
