The WakeNature Preserves Partnership will host a FREE workshop focused on management opportunities, challenges, priorities, and approaches for riparian habitats.  The morning session includes invited speakers for many topics, including:

  • Beaver ecology and management,
  • Trail access considerations,
  • Designing interpretive signage,
  • Invasive species management,
  • Identifying restoration opportunities and approaches,
  • Partnership possibilities.

After lunch (on your own), participants will head into the field to see a completed stream and wetland restoration project on a tributary of Lake Raleigh. We will learn about wood duck and prothonotary warbler enhancements, and explore areas in Lake Raleigh Woods where a management planning effort is currently underway.

Please join us for a day of information sharing and networking. Participants will better understand the opportunities and challenges associated with supporting healthy habitats and their associated species in critical riparian areas.
