Hunting Education Courses
PLEDGE to introduce someone new to hunting during the 2010 hunting season and you will receive a FREE Hunting Heritage Program hat and bumper sticker!
WHY
The majority of all hunters began hunting because someone (a hunting mentor) took the time to introduce them to the activity. An individual rarely begins hunting without the support and guidance of a hunting mentor. Reflect back on the person who introduced you to hunting. If hunting really matters to you, become a hunting mentor and share the tradition. There is no better way to say thanks to the person that took the time and effort to mentor you!
HOW
The mentor will need to complete a campaign registration form. The mentor will receive a FREE hat and bumper sticker by PLEDGING to mentor someone new to hunting during the 2010 hunting season (new to hunting is defined as “having not previously hunted). The person being mentored can be youth or adult because hunter recruitment can occur at any age.
FOLLOW-UP EVALUATION
After the close of the 2010 hunting season, the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) will provide a post-campaign survey asking you to provide some additional information in order to better understand hunter recruitment and retention in North Carolina. Mentors completing the post-campaign survey (provided early 2011) will be entered in a drawing for a FREE State Comprehensive Lifetime Hunting License donated by The Conservation Leaders for Tomorrow Program.
The following will be required to take part in the campaign:
- The participating mentor must have a current NCWRC Customer Number (What is this?) which can be found on your hunting license or the “License-Exempt Big Game Harvest Report Card (What is this?).

Do Not Delay!
- Supply of hats and bumper stickers is limited.
- Campaign ends November 1st or when supply of hats and bumper stickers run out.
- Please allow a minimum of 4-8 weeks for delivery of hats and bumper stickers.
