
Celebrate Hunting, Fishing and Wildlife Conservation in North Carolina
Join the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission on Sept. 23, 2017 as we celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day in North Carolina. The Wildlife Commission is hosting or supporting free, family-oriented events that highlight our state’s extraordinary hunting and fishing heritage and remarkable wildlife conservation efforts through the years.
Interactive activities and demonstrations vary for each event, but all provide unique opportunities for participants of all ages to connect with nature and test their outdoors skills. A few of the activities include:
- Fishing;
- Archery;
- Air rifle range;
- Rifle and shotgun shooting range;
- Reptile and amphibian exhibit;
- Raptors exhibit;
- Outdoors cooking;
- Tracking and game recovery;
- And much more!

Coinciding with National Hunting and Fishing Day, Gov. Roy Cooper has proclaimed Sept. 23, 2017 as Hunting and Fishing Day in North Carolina, recognizing the many and varied social, cultural, economic and ecological benefits of hunting and angling. **The Greenwing Kids' Fishing Event at McKinney Lake Fish Hatchery is $20 per participant and includes lunch,rod-and-reel combo, hat, a T-shirt, duck call, and a Greenwing membership.
