RALEIGH, N.C. (Dec. 14, 2017) —The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission has released the final versions of five game land management plans. These plans were developed to provide a management framework that balances science-based conservation practices with public access and usage.

Management plans are available for the following game lands:

  • Needmore, comprising 5,000 acres in Macon and Swain counties
  • Pond Mountain, comprising 2,272 acres in Ashe County
  • J. Morgan Futch, comprising 596 acres in Tyrell County
  • Stones Creek, comprising 3,450 acres in Onslow County

Each management plan includes general information on the game land, including physical attributes, infrastructure, potential improvements and other features that can be found on the game land. Management plans were made using a wide-ranging array of input, ideas and needs expressed by land managers and public users of the game lands.
