RALEIGH, N.C. (June 17, 2014) — The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will conduct a prescribed burn today in Richmond County on the western side of Gum Swamp Lake.

WHAT: Prescribed burns to reduce pine litter and undesired vegetation, and to stimulate growth of native vegetation to benefit wildlife.

WHEN: June 17.

WHERE: One location: 135 acres in western vicinity of Gum Swamp Lake.
