RALEIGH, N.C. (April 12, 2006) — The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will hold a public hearing Wednesday, April 19 on a proposal regarding captive deer, elk and other cervids. The hearing will begin at 7 p.m. in the first-floor auditorium of the Wildlife Resources Commission building, 1751 Varsity Drive on the Centennial Campus of N.C. State University in Raleigh. The proposed rule change would allow the executive director of the Wildlife Resources Commission to grant a waiver to existing restrictions on the importation of live cervids into the state.
