Fun and Discovery in Kids Wildlife Art Competition
Children, kindergarten through eighth grade, are eligible to enter the Kids Wildlife Art Competition co-sponsored by the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission’s Wildlife in North Carolina magazine and the N.C. Museum of Art. Each child may enter one image of a wild animal native to North Carolina. The 12 winners will be published in a 2009 calendar that will be for sale to the public. They will also receive $100, a family membership to the N.C. Museum of Art and free copies of the calendar. The competition is designed to encourage students (and teachers) to observe and appreciate native wildlife as an inspiration for art and science. “Ideas can be found in nature, in your backyard, and even inside the pages of Wildlife in North Carolina,” said Michael Humphries, managing editor for the magazine. “Each entry is a chance to learn about the many different species that call North Carolina home.” Entry requirements:
Entries will be judged and winners contacted by April 1, 2008. To download a printable poster with full rules, click here. For questions via e-mail, click here. |
