Wildlife Action Plan Implementation Update

Information was presented about three programs initiated by the Wildlife Resources Commission that support and implement goals and strategies outlined in the current Wildlife Action Plan:

These programs work with local governments, the development community, and private landowners to conserve wildlife and their habitats. For information on how your organization can partner with the Commission on these programs or how these programs can assist your organization with implementation of the goals or priorities outlined in the Wildlife Action Plan, contact the Commission biologist identified above or an inland fisheries or wildlife management biologist in your district.

Implementation of the goals and strategies outlined in the Wildlife Action Plan is also accomplished through the many projects undertaken by stakeholders, partners, and the Commission. The workshops also introduced a new Conservation Registry portal that was developed to recognize these projects and can be used as a planning tool when determining where to direct conservation efforts. Stakeholders and conservation partners can use the Wildlife Resources Commission portal to showcase their work as well as highlight volunteer opportunities with their organization, share requests for equipment, and identify financial support needs for specific projects. Contact Cindy Carr for more information on entering projects to the Conservation Registry portal.
