General Terrain Characteristics: Mixed pines and hardwoods, rolling hills, moderately steep slopes, typical of the northern Piedmont.

Special Equipment Needs: In addition to normal hunting gear, the following items may be helpful:

• GPS, hip boots, binoculars, topographical map, portable stand/blind, waders, game hauler or backpack, compass, bicycle.

Waterfowl FAQ:

• Do I need a boat to access my hunt area? No, access to the impoundments is by foot travel only. • How far do I have to walk to get to the impoundments? The Caswell Impoundment is about 0.3 miles from the parking lot. The Brumley Impoundment is approximately 0.8 miles. • Can I wade within the impoundment? Yes, but wade with caution. There are ditches and holes throughout the area.

• Will I be assigned a location to hunt? Yes, your permit will list your assigned impoundment. You can hunt any location within this impoundment.

• Will I be assigned a location to hunt? No, your permit allows you to hunt anywhere on R. Wayne Bailey-Caswell Game Land, except the Restricted Zone.

• Can I hunt in the Archery Zone with this permit? You may hunt in the Archery Zone; however you may not use anything other than archery equipment in this area.
