Beaver Related Regulations
Trapping: Every effort should be made to trap beavers during the annual trapping season (November 1 through March 31, statewide) because this is the time of year they are most active and susceptible to trapping.

Landowners whose property is or has been damaged or destroyed by beaver may take beaver on their property by any lawful method without obtaining a depredation permit from the Wildlife Resources Commission. Landowners may obtain assistance from other persons in taking the depredating beaver by giving those persons permission to take beaver on the landowner's property.
Shooting: There is an open season for taking beaver with firearms or bow and arrow throughout the year. Permission must be obtained from the owner or lessee of the land on which the beaver is being taken.
Beaver lodges and dams: A permit is required before a beaver lodge can be destroyed. However, landowners can destroy the beaver dams.
