The Habitat Conservation
Program protects,
manages and conserves aquatic, wetland and upland habitats
for the benefit of fish and wildlife populations.
Game
Lands Program
Some
2,000,000 acres of public and private lands in North Carolina are managed
for public hunting,
trapping and fishing.
Cooperative
Upland-habitat Restoration and Enhancement (CURE)
The
CURE Program aims to increase habitat and improve small game and
songbird populations on private and public land.
Deer
Management Assistance Program (DMAP)
The DMAP offers landowners or hunt clubs options
in managing deer herds on their property or leases.
Beaver
Management Assistance Program (BMAP)
The BMAP helps to
educate the public and participating landholders about the best strategies
for managing
beaver damage.
