The Green Growth Toolbox is a technical assistance tool designed to help communities conserve high quality habitats alongside new homes, workplaces, and shopping centers.
The toolbox will help your community design land-use planning methods to conserve your natural assets — fish, wildlife, plants, streams, forests, fields, and wetlands.
These methods include:
- Using Conservation Data
- Green Planning
- Greening Ordinances
- Greening Development Review & Site Design
HOW IT WORKS

The Green Growth Toolbox consists of a handbook, GIS dataset, and website. Training workshops are currently available for local government staff and advisory boards in certain Piedmont counties. Communities that participate in workshops can also receive individualized technical guidance.
If you would like to schedule a workshop, email us at greengrowth@ncwildlife.org.
This project is a cooperative, non-regulatory effort led by the Wildlife Diversity program of the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.
