N.C. Bowhunters Association Recognizes Wildlife Officer
“It doesn’t hurt that he’s a dedicated bowhunter, too,” said Ramon Bell, president of the Bowhunters Association, upon announcing the award. Edmisten, of Bahama, has been with the Commission for 12 years. He grew up on a farm in Concord, where he learned how to bow hunt at the age of 12. “I got my first deer (bow hunting) when I was 13,” Edmisten said. “I have continued to bow hunt and in numerous states since then.” He has a degree in Fish and Wildlife Management from Wayne Community College. He and his wife Jennifer have a 17-month-old daughter, Addison. “Officer Edmisten stands out,” said Bell. “His community involvement and work with youth, especially providing archery instruction, makes him an outstanding choice for this recognition. His work means so much, not only to bowhunters, but to all sportsmen across the state.”
