Coming Fall 2008!
Exhibits are currently under construction and will be open to the public in September 2008. Plan your trip now to see these interactive, informative and entertaining exhibits.
Kids will love the 6-foot redbreast sunfish because it’s huge. Teachers will love it because it clearly details the features and functions of fish anatomy, from external characteristics, such as fins and scales, to internal organs unique to fish, such as the air bladder.
Other exhibits will include:
- “Tools of the Trade – Fishing 101,” which will feature various lures and baits anglers use to reel in their favorite catches, as well as three reel simulators designed to replicate the weight of a 2-pound, 10-pound and 20-pound fish.
- “The Watershed Connection,” a map and collection of fish models that will use electronic graphics to delineate North Carolina’s 17 river basins and various fish species that inhabit the different basins.
- “Moments in Time,” an underwater diorama that will illustrate how fishing techniques appear to fish.
