Wildlife Depredation Permit Instructions for Animal Control Officers

Directions for completing the application for a “Wildlife Depredation Permit for Public Health & Safety for County & City Officers”.

Read all of the following directions:

The application process will allow you to apply for and print a new permit or renew and print an existing permit.

A new permit is valid from date of issuance to December 31 of the year in which it was issued.  A renewal permit is valid from Jan 1 to December 31 of the year in which it was issued if renewed prior to expiration.  Renewals made after the expiration date are valid from date of issuance to December 31 of the year in which it was issued.

To Apply or Renew

To apply for and print a new permit:

  1. The county or city supervisor for animal control services completes the application.
  2. Only one application form is completed for each county or city.
  3. Once the application form has been accessed select “Option 2-Issue New Permit”
  4. Enter supervisor’s last name, contact email and organization’s zip code (org zip code).
  5. Click “search” button.
  6. A message will appear that states you are not in the database.
  7.  Click on the “add customer” button in the lower right corner of the screen.
  8. Fill in all the required customer information. 
  9. Review customer information for accuracy and then click on “IssuePermit” button in lower right side
  10. Print the permit.
  11. Note:  All county or city employees under the supervision of the permittee or under contract shall carry a copy of the permit and a letter of authorization from the permittee while conducting activities authorized by the permit.

To renew a permit:

  1. The county or city supervisor for animal control services completes the application.
  2. Only one application form is completed for each county or city.
  3. Once the application form has been accessed select “Option 1 – Renew Existing Permit”
  4.  At “Permit Number” enter the permit number found on the existing permit.
  5. Enter the organization name.
  6. Click “search” button.
  7. You will see your customer information on the screen.   Click the “select customer” button in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
  8. Review customer information for accuracy and then click on “Issue Permit” button.
  9. Print the permit.
  10. Note:  All county or city employees under the supervision of the permittee or under contract   shall carry a copy of the permit and a letter of authorization from the permittee while conducting activities authorized by the permit.
