HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. (April 11, 2018) — The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 20 at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate the reopening of the Holleman’s Crossing boating access area. The Wake County boating access area, located at 4420 Bartley-Holleman’s Road in Holly Springs, grants boaters access to Shearon Harris Lake.

The access area has been closed since January to make improvements and additions. Now that renovations are complete, the site has two double lane boat ramps with floating docks, a handicapped-accessable fishing pier and 95 newly-paved parking spaces for vehicles with trailers and 22 vehicle-only spaces, including six ADA-compliant spaces.

The project was funded with Sport Fish Restoration Program funds and through a partnership with Duke Energy.

“Duke Energy has been a great partner with the Commission over the years,” said Gary Gardner, the Commission’s engineering section chief. “With their help, we’ve been able to provide quality outdoor recreation opportunities to constituents all across the state.”
