Pechmann Center Offers Seven Fishing and Boating Workshops in April

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (March 11, 2019) – The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission’s John E. Pechmann Fishing Education Center is offering seven free workshops for people of all ages and skill levels in April. Online registration is required for the workshops, which are open on a first-come, first-served basis.

April 5 – Surf Fishing Workshop from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Open to ages 15 and older. 

April 9–10 – Introductory Fishing for Adults from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Open to ages 16 and older. 

April 13 – Kayak Fishing Workshop from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Open to ages 14 and older. Students 15 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult.

April 16–18 – Basic Rod Building Course from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Open to ages 16 and older. 

April 22–26 – Spring Break Fishing Camp from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. daily. Open to ages 9 through 14.

April 25 – Fly-tying Forum from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Open to ages 10 and older. Students 15 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult.

April 30 – May 2 – ABC3 Boating Safety Course from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. nightly. Open to ages 16 and older.

The John E. Pechmann Fishing Education Center is located at 7489 Raeford Road in Fayetteville, across from Lake Rim. Commission staff at the Pechmann Center conducts fishing workshops, events and clinics throughout the year. Most programs are free and open to the public.
