Pechmann Fishing Education Center Releases October Schedule

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 27, 2021) – The Pechmann Fishing Education Center in Fayetteville has released its October class schedule. The education center is managed by the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission. Each course is led by Wildlife Commission staff or trained volunteers. Most events are free, and a North Carolina fishing license is not required. It’s a great opportunity to spend time outdoors with the family this fall.

October events include:

  • Oct. 7Pier Fishing Workshop for Women (Virtual), 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Ages 13 and older.
  • Oct. 12Rod Building Primer (Virtual), 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
  • Oct. 13: Fly-tying Forum (Virtual), 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Ages 10 and older.
  • Oct. 14: Tactics for Fall Bass Fishing (Virtual), 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
  • Oct. 16: A Bear Goes Fishing Adventure, 9 a.m. – noon, Cub Scout Adventure Elective.
  • Oct. 16: A Bear Goes Fishing Adventure, 2 p.m. – 5 p.m., Cub Scout Adventure Elective.
  • Oct. 19 - 21: Basic Rod Building Course, 6:30 - 9 p.m., Ages 16 and older.
  • Oct. 23: Boy Scout Merit Badge Clinic, 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Boy Scouts ages 11 and older.
  • Oct. 28: Fly-tying Forum (Virtual), 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Ages 10 and older.
