RALEIGH, N.C. (Sept. 2, 2015) — The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission advises hunters of a regulation change for the Lewis Millpond waterfowl impoundment on the Uwharrie Game Land in Montgomery County.

On the posted waterfowl impoundment, waterfowl may be taken only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays; on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s and Martin Luther King Jr. holidays; and on the opening and closing days of the applicable waterfowl seasons.

Previously, the millpond waterfowl impoundment had been open to hunting six days a week in applicable seasons. The change is reflected in the 2015-2016 Inland Fishing, Hunting and Trapping Regulations Digest. Other hunting opportunities at Uwharrie Game Land remain six days a week.
