Get your conservation project noticed by registering it on the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission's Conservation Registry portal, a new, online information system that records, tracks and maps conservation efforts across the state. The Commission's portal is one of several customized partner portals featured on The Conservation Registry, a nationwide database of conservation actions built and maintained by Defenders of Wildlife.
The Commission's Conservation Registry portal provides partners a way to showcase their projects to landowners, land trusts, state, local and tribal agencies, investors, contributors, and others who have an interest in conserving habitat and wildlife in North Carolina. The portal allows partners to:
Once you add your project to the registry, portal visitors can find it by browsing an interactive map, performing a keyword search, searching for specific volunteer requests, or searching for equipment and/or funding needs. Using the Quick Search function, visitors can view projects by Wildlife Action Plan goals, conservations tools (e.g., Green Growth Toolbox), or other criteria, such as recently added or updated projects and projects conducted in response to climate change concerns. While it is beneficial to provide as much information as possible about your project, the only required information is a project title, a description, planned action(s), and a location, with the option to suppress location information, if sensitive, from public view.
