Trout Fishing Maps

Maps depicting Public Mountain Trout Waters are provided to give anglers a guide to fishing regulations in effect on specific streams. Public Mountain Trout Waters are shown in thick colored lines that correspond to colors of existing signs conspicuously posted along waters.  Tract boundaries and designated portions of streams are not precise, but are approximations of actual locations. Users should identify boundaries on the ground before fishing. These maps are provided as a guide to trout waters and users should refer to the current North Carolina Inland Fishing, Hunting & Trapping Regulations Digest or see the trout regulations to obtain additional information and confirm regulations in effect.

A significant amount of trout fishing opportunities in western North Carolina are located on private property. These landowners have generously allowed for public access for fishing. Please respect their property.

If you own a copy of the Trout Map Book (see page 4 of Fishing Publications) , you can view a list of updates here (pdf).
