About the Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education

The Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education invites you to explore coastal North Carolina's wildlife, natural history and cultural heritage.

The center is located in Currituck Heritage Park on Highway 12 in Corolla, next to Currituck Beach Lighthouse and the Whalehead Club.

  • Open daily, 9am-4:30pm. Closed on Sundays.
  • Open Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Friday.  Closed on other state holidays.

 

  • Admission is free; please call to sign up for programs.
  • Contributions to the center are gratefully accepted; donation boxes are located in the lobby. Please ask at the information desk about tax-deductible gifts to the center.

 

  • All exhibits are universally accessible.
  • Hearing assistance devices are available for video presentations.

The N.C. Wild Store offers nature-oriented merchandise, including books, posters, gifts, artwork and apparel.  The store also carries Wildlife Commission educational materials.  All proceeds of N.C. Wild Store products support conservation education projects and programs.
