Wildlife Commission Schedules Meetings to Discuss Black Bear Management
The black bear is the only bear species found in North Carolina or anywhere in the eastern United States.

RALEIGH, N.C. (July 28, 2016) — The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will hold a series of public meetings in August to update the public on current black bear information and discuss bear management. The meetings will also serve as an open forum to receive public opinions regarding future directions for bear hunting and management across the state.

 

“Meetings like this have proven invaluable to the Commission,” said Dr. David Cobb, chief of the Commission’s Wildlife Management Division. “It’s important that our constituents have the opportunity to voice their opinions and present ideas in an open forum.”

 

All meetings will begin at 7 p.m. The locations and dates are:
