The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission’s Shooting Range Program provides and maintains public shooting ranges across the state that offer a safe, controlled and organized environment for sportsmen and recreational shooters alike. View a map of site locations and service coverage of current shooting ranges managed and/or funded by the agency, as well as potential sites for future ranges. For more information, contact gary.gardner@ncwildlife.org.

NCWRC and McDowell County recently partnered to construct a new shooting range at 2880 Ashworth Road, Marion. The site includes a 100-yard range, 25-yard range, a static archery range, and a 3-D archery area. More information about the range, including hours of operation, fees, and safety requirements can be found here.

NCWRC will provide additional facilities for shotgun users at the Holly Shelter Shooting Range in Pender County. Two 5-stand fields, with covered shooting shelters, and a shotgun patterning lane will be added to the existing facility. Work for this project is currently out to bid.

NCWRC is working with the Camp Hanes YMCA facility to develop a .22 range and archery range in Stokes County. We look forward to releasing more information about this opportunity in the future.
